Doug Mitchell founded his public
affairs consulting company, The Mitchell Group, seven
years ago after more than 15 years of government and
political experience on both the national and state
level.
The
former Montana Chief of Staff for United States Senator
Max Baucus, Mitchell also worked in the U.S. House of
Representatives for Congressman Douglas H. Bosco (D-CA)
and as Chief of Staff for Montana Secretary of State
Mike Cooney.
His
political experience includes campaigns at all levels.
He was the Montana State Director for then Governor Bill
Clinton in 1992, the only time in 40 years a Democratic
candidate has won Montana.
Since
founding The Mitchell Group, Doug and his staff have
helped countless groups find their voice and effectively
communicate on a variety of progressive issues including
health care reform, private land conservation, support
for public education and telecommunications reform. At
the Mitchell Group, Doug is the director of National and
Federal Policy Division.
Doug
also serves on many various boards and committees. On
election night, you will find Doug providing political
analysis on KXLF-TV. Outside of work, he enjoys
spending time with his wife and two boys.
